Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Secret Notes ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

License

Secret Notes grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download, install, and use the App on your Android device solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your PIN and biometric authentication
• All content you create and store within the App
• Backing up your data if desired (the App does not provide cloud backup)
• Understanding that deleted data cannot be recovered
• Using the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Data Storage and Security

The App stores all data locally on your device using AES-256 encryption. We do not have access to your data, cannot recover your data if you forget your PIN, and cannot restore deleted notes.

Important: If you forget your PIN or lose access to your device, your encrypted notes cannot be recovered. Please remember your PIN.

No Warranty

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any information

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Secret Notes and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the App
• Loss of data due to forgotten PINs or device issues
• Unauthorized access to your device or notes
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful components
• Any other matter relating to the App

Data Loss

You acknowledge and agree that:

• The one-tap delete feature permanently erases all data
• Deleted notes cannot be recovered by anyone, including us
• Uninstalling the App will delete all stored data
• We are not responsible for any data loss
• You should maintain your own backups if needed

Prohibited Uses

You may not use the App to:

• Store illegal content or content that violates any laws
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Remove or modify any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the App for any commercial purposes without permission

Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue the App at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your data (spoiler: we don't collect any).

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App for any reason, though given the offline nature of the App, this would only apply to future updates.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
